Icom or Kenwood Radio Control and Logging ========================================= The Icom and Kenwood radio control and logging programs are in files ICOMxxx.zip and KENxxx.zip respectively. The programs are fully functional! Please download the programs for a try. Comments, suggestions for the improvement of, or problems with this programme should be emailed to: field@nucleus.com ============================================================== Shareware information follows the Recent changes section ============================================================== Recent changes: -------------- V2.5.0 (October 1998) - fix: fix "confirmed" total errors for dxcc stats. - fix: (icom only) buttons for IC781 - fix: (icom only) frequency list problem with R9000 - new: update OK1RR area tables V2.4.9 (August 1998) - fix: The DUP CHECKING feature was lost. It is now found! - fix: MM or AM mobile contacts no longer show in the call and country windows. V2.4.8 (August 1998) - fix: An distribution error for the DXCC tables was made that affected V2.4.6 and V2.4.7. V2.4.7 (August 1998) - fix: (Icom only) The R71 did not have an AM button. - new: update OK1RR area tables V2.4.6 (June 1998) - fix: resolve extra-territorial USA calls with call area suffixes such as KP2A/4 as being part of continental USA. - new: Update OK1RR area tables. V2.4.5 (June 1998) - fix: the country resolution algorithm would not resolve some calls correctly - such as FG/W2QM/FS or UA3AFI/UA0X. - fix: a call sign that is not a valid DXCC country is indicated as an unknow country on the screen during log entry. - new: update OK1RR area tables. - new: (ICOM only) the R10 hand-held receiver is now supported. V2.4.4 (May 1998) - fix: minor program fixups for radio control and logging. - fix: Icom only: frequencies above 2.1gHz were not properly processed. This affects such radios as the IC970. - fix: Icom only: program would not handle -ve splits on radios such as the IC820. V2.4.3 (May 1998) - fix: Statistics summary gave incorrect band statistics for all the all-mode summary. - fix: Highlight QSL to be sent preference was not saved. Now it is. v2.4.2 (April 1998) - new: Buckmaster cdrom latitude/longitude information is used if it is available for a call sign lookup rather than the default country lat/long. - new: QSL Manager information in RAC and BUCKMASTER CDRom information retrieved for appropriate contacts and inserted into the log. - new: If GRID numbers entered, the beam information is computed from the center of the stations's grid square to the centre of your grid square. The information is highlighted in BLUE to indicate the beam heading and distance are associated with a grid square. - new: For distance calculations, the earth shape is now considered to be an ellipsoid rather than perfectly round. v2.4.0 (April 1998) - new: Updated version of OK1RR's dx data base. With this version of the tables, it is possible to import a log from another log data base and resolve (almost) all possible DXCC contacts correctly. - new: Support for Buckmaster CDROM call book. See Log/Preference/Log - new: Packet cluster can post a dx spot from the log to the cluster. See TTY/Help for usage. - new: Instant band statistics of the country and call being worked can be displayed. See Log/Preferences/DXCC - new: Automatic generation of RST for new qso. See LOG/Preference/Log for more information. - new: DUP check identifies "contest style" dups as well as new countries for band and mode. - fix: The log now operates quickly for large log files (>30,000 qso's) - fix: Better error checking on delimited file import (some older logs export delimited files incorrectly). - fix: Clean up small bugs elsewhere. v2.3.0 (April 1998) - new: Martin Kratoska (OK1RR) has contributed a very extensive call area resolution data base with close to 1500 entries. This identifies most countries' call areas and provinces. In addition, it identifies many special prefixes used by clubs, foreign operator and even resolves most of the call signs used in the Antarctic. This should be valuable to DXers interested in more than simple DXCC information. This is contained in file AreaOK1RR.tbl. Select the logging window option FILE/PREFERENCES/DXCC. Check the "Print Call Areas for DXCC", "Use Deleted DXCC Countries" and "Use Area/Call Resolution List" check boxes. Then click on the "Select Area/Call File Name" button and choose the AreaOK1RR.tbl file. - new: packet cluster support with a simple packet radio window. This will be enhanced in future releases. Please send comments... - new: TEMOTU (H40) as been added to the Country.Tab file as a valid dxcc country. The country reference number is set as 999. This is NOT an official ADIF number. When the official number is available, it will be posted on http://www.logicnet.com/tony.field. - new: the logging entry can now be operated WITHOUT the use of a mouse for normal log entry. - new: added keyboard preferences (see Log/File/Preference/Keyboard) - new: added arrow keys and PgUp/PgDn to log window and the numeric pad + and - keys for editing the log history. - fix: some problems with keyboard usage in log window. - fix: Some report formatting has been slightly modified to properly report the OK1RR data base information. - fix: Delimited export contained an invalid field. - fix: The Sun map night area is darker (some screen settings did not differentiate day from night sufficiently). - fix: changes to some aspects of DXCC table processing to allow OK1RR area tables to work properly. V2.2.3 (March 1998) - new: added 6m and 2m to some DXCC summary reports. - change: the Sun map of the world is shaded rather than a simple red line to show the sun terminator. - fix: some reporting details v2.2.2 (February 1998) - fix: updated DXCC tables and a few things with DXCC resolution. The DXCC resolution algorithm might now be considered to be "very strong" with the provided DXCC current and deleted country tables. This can be enhanced with the call area table. For example, the following will be correctly resolved (unlikely as the exact example might be) and handle CDROM lookup correctly: m/ve6yp or ve6yp/g England kk7a/vp2v or vp2v/kk7a British Virgin Islands ve6yp/ok1/m or ok1/ve6yp/m Czech Republic ve7/ve6yp or ve6yp/7 British Columbia, Canada fr/g/ve6yp Glorioso fr1ab/g Glorioso This should make it convenient to import logs from older logging programs. -fix: (Icom222) R7100 buttons better approximate the front panel of the R7100. v2.2.1 (January 1998) - new: (ICOM PROGRAM ONLY) support for IC746 - new: added a "country reference number" to the DXCC country list. A button on log screen associates a qso with a specific country. This can be used to resolve ambiguous prefixes such as VK0 (Heard or Macquarie Islands) - new: added effective dates to DXCC table. This resolves old qso's properly for deleted countries. Also, deleted countries may be excluded/included in the DXCC table (see FILE/PREFERENCES). - new: Sun window now "points" to the country for the current qso with a yellow line. - new: added conversion feature to allow external log files in ADIF or DELIMITED TEXT format to be imported. - new: added "Unknown country" report to show all contacts with stations that are not known in the DXCC list. - new: added OFFLINE button to allow more convenient entry of old qso information. - fix: DXCC lookup resolves forms like FR5ZU/T and KK7A/VP2V conflicts. - fix: some minor DXCC reporting problems - fix: optimization for older slower computers using large log files (more that 10000 qso's). NOTE: when V2.2.1 starts, it will ask you if you wish to ==== convert to the new log format. Click on OK. This adds the "dxcc Ref" field to the log file. ============================================================== ============================================================== SHAREWARE REGISTRATION This product is offered as ShareWare.
