The
ICOM Radio Control and Logging
program for WIN95/NT is designed to control
up to four ICOM radios concurrently on the CI-V serial bus.
The radios may be of older vintage such as
the IC735 or newer such as the IC706mkII, IC756 and IC746.
Receivers and/or ham transceivers may be controlled.
Radio control also supports memory programming and frequency lists.
Logging features include log printing, grey line (sun terminator)
image of the earth, CDROM call books, beam headings,
dup-checking, QSL label printing, and
export to database. Award tracking is provided for DXCC, ITU/CQ zone,
IOTA. Grid Locator, and Counties. File import and export with ADIF
or delimited format.
The Kenwood Radio Control and Logging
has identical logging facilities and supports all Kenwood radios
for radio control but has extensive control features for the TS850.

Two possibly useful (freeware) programs may be downloaded. The coaxtrap.zip file computes design parameters for coaxial traps. The azimuth.zip file displays and prints an azimuth (beam heading) and Mercator maps of the world from your QTH. Maidenhead grids, cities of the world and provinces can be displayed. The map may be plotted on meter-wide paper with good resolution. The Azimuth map program supports multiple country location files. This can be used to create repeater maps for your country or province.
NEW (Aug/98): Improved CoaxTrap features. The CoaxTrap design program now has a catalogue of coax cables for electrical characteristics. Unfortunately, the only parameters I have are for BELDEN cables. It would be appreciated if the users of this program could contribute accurate capacitance per foot and coax diameters for other cable manuafcturers. Even web address pointing to manufacturers data sheets would be appreciated.

After downloading, unzip the selected program file into a temporary directory. Start the installation by running Setup.exe in the temporary directory. The programs may be removed with Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs.
The programs run under Windows 95 and Windows NT (not Windows 3.x.) and work best with a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher.
